Winter/Christmas Tag Swap

Happy December Everyone!!!

In November I hosted a tag swap through Cardmaker Magazines card swap website.  Due to the holiday's and the busy time of year, I'm just now getting around to posting pictures.  I went with snowmen for my tags.  Really....how can you go wrong with snowmen.  :)

So for my tags I went with the main color of blue for the tags.  To me a blue colors reminds me of cold or winter.  Then I use some embellishment snowmen that I purchased at Michael's.  I think why I liked them was because the were sparkly.  The snowflakes were from a stamp set that I purchased at Michael's (it have about 12 different stamps of different sizes).  I then stamped the snowflakes in a silver ink and then added a silver cord type for the ribbon.  It was fun making my first set of tags.  I think I need to start now for next year.  :)

Have a wonderful Christmas!!

AUTUMN BLESSINGS BLOG HOP

You are on the CardSwaps Autumn Blessings Crop.   At the end of the hop, you are also invited to continue the fun over on the forum with more games, challenges, and prizes!  The crop is from November 16-19, 2011 and you have until November 22, 2011 to get your projects posted to the challenge threads and in the drawings for prizes.

The theme of this blog hop is I have been blessed.  Everyone has things they are blessed about and we have hostesses that are going to show and tell you what they are blessed about.

You should have arrived here from the talented Susan.  I have been blessed with getting to see Susan's wonder creations she has made whether it be a card, tag, or a lovely stick pin.  She has inspired me to try techniques that I probably would have never tried.  If  you didn't arrive here from Susan's blog, then you are going to want to start from the beginning at Lora's Blog.  You do not want to miss any of what these ladies have to show you.

I personally have been blessed in many ways.  My wonderful mom and dad that has always been supportive and encourages me to reach for my dreams.  Without them I don't know where I'd be today.  I have an awesome older brother who has always looked out for me even when we lived thousand miles apart.....even though he always give me the occasional nuggie.  :)  I have been blessed with a good job with the Federal Government helping our veterans that have served our country.  I have been blessed with many crafted friends as well!!  Thanks to them, I have stepped out of my normal craft comfort zone and they have shown me all different types of techniques and ideas for crafts and cards.  To them...Thank you but I'm still learning.  :)  I have also been blessed with may close friends that I don't know what I would do without them.  Whether we live in the same town or states away, we always know we care for each other and can always count on one another.  There are many other ways I'm blessed but we don't have the time on here....there is hopping to do.  :)

My card below is going to one of my friends that I'm blessed to have.  The flowers represent the time we need to take to "stop and smell the roses" or in this case flowers and maybe reflect on the things we are blessed to have in our lives.  Of course I had to add a stick pin from one of my crafty friends that I received from a swap.  :)

Next you are going to hop on over to Teresa http://www.tickellexpressions.blogspot.com/She will inspire you with her creations and how she is blessed.  Don't forget to leave a comment to show how much you enjoyed her blog.  I can't wait to see what Teresa comes up with.

If you get lost on the hop, here is the list where you can find yourself again.

Thank you for taking the time to blog hop and hope you have enjoyed it.

Girly with Pink Challenge

This week I participated in a weekly challege on the Cardmaker Magazine Card Swap page.  The challenge was to make a girly card with pink.  Below is what I came up with.  I really enjoy this stamp and had fun coloring the image.  I added the ribbon and then the stick pin is from a stick pin swap in was it.  They only thing I would do different is next time I'll emboss the base of the card.  :)

A bunch of cards

While most people were are the University of Missouri Homecoming football game, I spend the day making cards.  I made theses Valentine/Love cards to take to Kansas City this coming Friday for a card swap at the Creative Keepsake Convention.  But of course, I got on to register for the swap and registration was closed.  So if I can be added to it on Friday, these cards will go to Operation Write Home.

I stamped the hearts on the paper.  There are 3 red hearts (which might be hard to see) and 3 pink hearts.  Then I stamped the sentiment, added the flower, a little bling and then popped it up.  Hope whoever gets these, enjoys it.

All you need is Love!!

I joined an Operation Write Home Card Drive and wanted to make some cards for Valentine's Day/Love.  It's a simple card but I had fun with this one.  I used the heart stamp and stamped the back ground paper with two different color inks.  I'm going to play around with it a little more and my add a ribbon or stick pin and I'm thinking about using pop ups on the sentiment.  Overall, I like the way it turned out.  :)

Birthday Card

My mom asked me to make a birthday card for her to give to my aunt.  Well, my first attemped at making a birthday card and I think it turned out pretty good.  One of my first cards I made, I kind of used the same idea and just changed it a bit.  My mom and I love butterfly's and had to stick with those.

Pin cushion

Over the weekend I tried my hand at making a pin cushion using a mason jar.  My mom saw the article in a magazine.  Of course due to all the stick pins I’ve been making (Thanks to Lora)….I had to make a few.  :)  The great thing is, it's two in one....pin cushion on top and then place ribbon, buttons or any other goodies in the jar.
